Kavitha upset on not being invited People who lobbied got a ticket to Chennai celebrations, the actress claimed
Noted actress Kavitha, who holds the distinction of having shared screen space with south stalwarts like NTR, ANR, MGR, Krishna, Vishnu Vardhan and Rajinikanth, was livid that she wasn't invited to the Centenary Celebrations of Indian Cinema in Chennai.
'Neither the organisers called me nor did they send any invitation. Many of my colleagues from the South industry rang me up to know about my whereabouts at the venue but I had to cut a sorry figure as I was not invited,' she said in Hyderabad.
'With 150 films in my kitty as a lead actress, aren't the organisers conscious of what I've contributed to south cinema,' she questioned.
She wondered can the organisers be so ignorant of her contributions or her current ones as she is popular on television with her soaps being aired almost every day. She also said she was also politically active with her association with TDP as well.
'Two days ago, I attended ANR's birthday celebrations in Hyderabad. How can the organisers do this to me?' she wept. Her juniors in the industry were invited but not her, she bemoaned.
'People who lobbied got a ticket to Chennai. Even some of my seniors too were not favoured for the ceremony. I never expected that I'll be receiving this kind of respect from the industry,' she said.
