A big no for Bikini Glamour is an intrinsic part of a film, especially when it comes to the heroines. The bigger the film, the more glamourous the heroine is.
Plunging necklines and short hemlines are the mainstay in most of the films. While our leading ladies are only too happy to ooze glamour on screen, they are also drawing a line when it comes to doing bikini scenes and lip-lock scenes with their heroes.
Top league actresses such as Samantha, Tamanna and Kajal Agarwal have been telling the same time and again during their interactions with the media.
Samantha is one of the most sought after actress in Tollywood who has carved a niche for herself with her performances. The actress who has been known for consciously changing her wardrobe for every film has created a trend with her style in films such as Brindavanam, Dookudu and Attarintiki Daredi.
Though she sports glamorous clothes to get into the skin of the character, she has her own reservations when it comes to wearing a bikini. A few days ago, rumors were rife that the sensuous beauty would be baring it all in a bikini in her forthcoming film tentatively titled Rabhasa being directed by Santosh Srinivas.
But the actress quickly quashed all rumors and wrote the same on her micro blogging site. 'If you have watched my films, you wouldn't need me to tell you that me sporting a bikini in my next is just a rumour. Put this to rest,' said Samantha.
Currently, Samantha is working for Naga Chaitanya starrers Autonagar Surya, Manam and NTR Jr's untitled film and also awaiting the release of Ramayya Vastavayya.
The next in line is Tamanna who is known for her energetic performances and versatile roles. Recently, the actress has tested waters in Bollywood with Himmatwala which is the remake of 80's super hit of the same name.
Though she has donned several glam roles in her films, she has set some boundaries when it comes to sporting a bikini or doing a steamy lip lock scene.
'It's my personal choice and that is something that I purposefully avoid as I don't like doing it. I've been very choosy and particular about certain scenes. I will not do them if I'm not comfortable with a particular scene,' says Tamanna.
The actress has recently bagged a couple of Bollywood biggies opposite Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar and has also given her commitment to work in a film each with Mahesh Babu titled Aagadu and an untitled film with Ravi Teja.
Kajal Agarwal who was once considered to be the reigning actress of Tollywood has also managed to make a mark in Bollywood with films such as Singham and Special 26.
She has left no stone unturned in showcasing her very own signature style when it comes to putting together her wardrobe a film. The actress who is evincing interest to play versatile roles has her reservations especially when it comes to sporting a bikini.
The actress insists that she is not willing to do anything which she cannot watch with her family. 'Sporting a bikini is something that doesn't suit my sensibilities and I have drawn a line there. I am not going to do anything which I can't watch with my family,' insists Kajal Agarwal.
The actress is awaiting the release of Yevadu and is also busy working for All in All Azhagu Raja and Jilla in Tamil. Their take on the topic is quite a contrast to the stand taken by actresses such as Priyamani and Anushka.
Priyamani has sported a bikini in Drona and has also done a steamy lip-lock in Raaj. On the other hand, Anushka has flaunted her curves in a bikini act in Billa and has done a lip-lock in Don with Nagarjuna.
Both the actresses drew flak for their bold acts. However, brushing aside criticism, Priyamani says, 'People want glamour and pay to see glamorous heroines. On the other hand, they set moral standards. May be the films do influence a section of the public, but actors cannot be blamed for it.
I feel it is double standards.' Well, as they say, each unto themselves. But one can safely say that the heroines of today draw a clear line between looking glamourous on screen and doing skin show merely to entice the front benchers.
