Actor Srihari passes away Well-known Telugu actor Srihari, famously known as Real Star, passed away at Leelavathi Hospital in Mumbai around 4 pm on Wednesday. He was 49 and is survived by wife (former actress Disco Shanti) and two sons.
He was undergoing treatment for liver-related ailments at the hospital. He had been suffering from jaundice for about a month.
He reached Mumbai along with wife last week for a shooting of Gen Next Productions' 'Rambo Rajkumar.' On Tuesday, he complained of chest pain and cancelled the shooting.
He was admitted to the hospital at around 10 am on Wednesday. He was immediately kept under the observation of a specialist, Dr Sameer Parekh.
However, he breathed his last in the evening. Director Prabhudeva rushed to the hospital on receipt of the news.
The body will be brought to Hyderabad on Thursday in the morning. It will be kept at MAA office for the public to pay their respects. Last rites will be held in the evening at his farm house in Bachupally near Hyderabad.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, leader of opposition N Chandrababu Naidu and actors from the Telugu film fraternity expressed their shock over his untimely death and sent condolences to his family.
The microblogging site Twitter was flooded with condolence messages by several film celebrities who expressed shock over Srihari's death and wrote their fond remembrances of one of the finest versatile actors in the industry.
