Telugu film unit attacked in Kerala Even before Tollywood is yet to come out of the shock of the untimely demise of actor Srihari, news of attack on the unit of a Telugu movie in Kerala has further saddened them.
Ra Ra Krishnayya, starring Sundeep Kishan and Regina Cassandra was being filmed in Kerala. The unit was shooting at a local temple when a mob of RSS workers barged onto the set and damaged the equipment.
They even beat up the unit members. Luckily, for Sundeep Kishan and Regina, they were whisked away from the place at the first sign of trouble. A few local actors had been part of the shoot and this is said to be the primary reason for the trouble.
The mob derided the localites for acting in a Telugu film. Giving vent to his frustration on social networking site, Twitter, actor Sundeep Kishan said, 'So much for hospitality and tourism.
Kerala RSS workers attacked our unit & beat up my crew members. And they used abusive language. We were shooting a temple scene (with official permissions). What kind of welcome is the state of Kerala giving us? Some of the Kerala local actors were beaten up saying why they were acting in a Telugu film.
This is the kind of respect the state is giving. Regina and I were immediately whisked away. My director was attacked. What about the safety of the crew? Horrible!'
The actor summed up his diatribe by saying that, 'I am not trying to generalize but no human being has the right to physically abuse any human being ever, especially, stating that the other person is a non-local./
