Rana replaces Naga Chaitanya Producer Lagadapati Sridhar tasted commercial success with Potugadu, a remake of the Kannada hit, Govindaya Namaha. Continuing in the same vein he has bought the remake rights to another Kannada hit Charminar, which he intended to make with Naga Chaithanya in the lead.
However, the latest news from the industry is that Naga Chaithanya has been unable to accommodate dates for the project, so Sridhar has roped in Rana Daggubati.
R Chandru who produced and directed the Kannada version has been retained as the director for the Telugu remake. In comparison to the famous Charminar monument in Hyderabad, the film is based on the premise that an individual, his friends, his lover and family constitute the four main pillars of his life.
Rana is currently filming for Baahubali and Rudramadevi. So, in all likelihood, the project would get underway once he is finished with the two movies.
