ANR recuperating after surgery Thespian Akkineni Nageswara Rao has undergone a surgery for rectal cancer. The actor was diagnosed with cancer of the small intestine a few days back.
It is learnt that ANR had difficulty in food intake on Saturday night and he was immediately rushed to the KIMS hospital. The doctors who attended to him conducted a few tests and performed a surgery for 45 minutes.
Currently, his condition is stable and he is recovering fast. However it would take up to two weeks' time for the actor to recover completely, confides a source.
Incidentally, on Saturday morning, ANR had convened a press conference to brief about his health and revealed that he was suffering from cancer.
The 90-year-old has urged his fans and the people to pray for him like always and thanked them for showering their love and affection on him all these years.
Meanwhile, panic-stricken fans and friends of ANR are anxiously making phone calls to Akkineni family members. Though the family is naturally concerned about the thespian's health, they are refraining from making any comments.
