In Tollywood flops follow firing In Tollywood, the post of a manager was considered to be an appointment for life, but that does not seem to be the case anymore!
Tollywood stars are being far stricter with their managers and recent times have witnessed a spate of firings by the likes of NTR Jr, Nagarjuna, Prabhas, Ravi Teja and last but not the least Pawan Kalyan.
NTR Jr appointed Vaisho Krishna as his manager to handle his personal work. Eventually, Krishna was shown the doors for various reasons. In the past, Krishna served as the manager for director Puri Jagannath for 7 years and in fact he christened himself Vaishno Krishna after the production house of Puri Jagan.
Sources close to NTR Jr confide that it was only because of Krishna's imprudence, NTR Jr was inaccessible to media and as a result a vacuum was created between the actor and the fourth-estate.
'We realized what damage has been done to NTR Jr. We are very open and as you know Tarak is a very amicable person who always respects media. Past is past, now we are here to avoid any gap between the star and the media,' reveals a source close to the actor.
Also, fans of NTR allege that Krishna was acting as a barricade between their matinee idol and themselves which further created a communication gap between them.
One of the most shocking news is that Buchi Raju who has been with Nagarjuna for close to 15 years was sacked due to some reasons best known to them. Reportedly, Nagarjuna is looking for a better replacement to manage his personal work, say sources.
And same is the case with Ravi Teja. The Balupu star has replaced actor and his manager Raja Ravindra and reportedly asked his close friend and actor Brahmaji to look after his call-sheets. Now, Raja Ravindra is handling the dates of Balakrishna Nandamuri and Nikhil once in a while.
Sometime ago Prabhas has changed his manager and actor Srinivas who acted in films like Gabbar Singh and Mr Perfect and reportedly handed over the job to his close friend and producer of the actor's film Mirchi ' Vamsi Krishna Reddy.
Even Pawan Kalyan has put an end to the long association of his manager Bade Ravi who served as an executive producer for one of his films. Further, he revamped his team and replaced all his old staff recently.
However, Praveen who looks after the call sheets of Ram Charan and Bunny Vasu who handles the work of Allu Arjun retained their positions because of their proficiency and transparency.
'Usually, top stars continue with their staff for years but at times when they come across some news on their unprofessionalism and irresponsibility of handling issues, they go for a replacement,' reveals a source.
Further he adds, 'A manager should understand his job properly and keep the image of the hero in mind before doing any work. Failing which, they lose trust and will be shown the doors right away.'
