PVP Cinema's wise move Super rich production and financing house PVP Cinemas made a successful entry into film production in Tollywood with Ravi Teja starrer Balupu. The movie did good business and generated good returns on investment.
However, their subsequent film Varna proved to be an absolute dampener. One of the most anticipated films of the year and touted to be a visual extravaganza, the movie turned out to be a super flop at the box-office with the movie failing on all counts.
Estimated to have been made on a budget of around Rs 60 crore, the presence of Anushka in the lead role could not salvage the film. Against this backdrop, it is said that PVP would now be producing their third film in the direction of Ravi Babu who has regained his form with his last outing at the ticket window, Avunu faring well.
More importantly, Ravi Babu is famous for his baniya style of film-making: wrapping up a film on a shoe string budget and innovative promotion to lure the masses.
If the movie does well, it normally results in huge profits and even if it doesn't, the losses are more than bearable. It is perhaps considering this factor that PVP has decided to associate with him. A wise move indeed!
