Fate of NTR, Sukumar film uncertain Post 1-Nenokkadine, Sukumar had a project tentatively lined up with NTR Jr. But uncertainty now hangs over the fate of the project thanks to the mixed reviews of 1-Nenokkadine.
Should the project fail to materialize, it would be the second instance in recent times when a big hero has backed out of a project after a director has delivered a flop. Allu Arjun shelved his project with Harish Shankar after the latter's film Ramayya Vasthavayya bombed at the box office.
But in all fairness to NTR Jr, he has never in the past reneged on a commitment to a director. But industry sources are quite skeptical of the project taking off now as Junior himself is going through a bad phase and at this point of time in his career, it is understandable that he would want to back the winning horses.
He is currently doing Rabhasa in the direction of Santosh Srinivas, who made a successful debut with Kandireega. Sukumar's project with Junior was supposed to take off after that. But the script work has not begun yet and it is now doubtful as to whether Sukumar would get the green signal to go ahead with it.
On the other hand, Sukumar has also announced his intention to turn producer and encourage newcomers and he would need to be concentrating full time on it. Against this backdrop, it would be a wonder if his project with Junior takes off.
