Special sets for Rudramadevi
A few extravagant fight sequences are all set to be canned on Anushka Shetty the lead actor in Rudramadevi, from January 29 on specially erected sets at Ramanaidu Studios, Hyderabad.
Produced and directed by Gunasekhar, Rudramadevi is India's first historical, stereoscopic 3D movie. Speaking to the media, Gunasekhar said, 'For the last forty days, the construction of the sets which primarily involves seven completely different fort walls has been taking place.
The sets would be utilized to show how Rani Rudramadevi of the Kakatiya dynasty staves off the challenge from thousands of Devnagari soldiers who besiege her fort.
The scenes would be filmed in such a manner that there is no precedent to it in world cinema. Thota Tharani has designed the sets magnificently and the shoot would take place from January 29 to February 20.'
Starring Anushka as Rani Rudramadevi, the movie also stars Krishnam Raju, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Suman, Nithya Menon, Katherine and Hamsa Nandini in pivotal roles. Celebrity lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry has been roped in for the project which has music by maestro Ilayaraja.
