Durga, an out and out entertainer The opening ceremony of Durga, starring Naga Chaithanya and Hansika Motwani in the lead roles was held at Hyderabad. Srinivas Reddy who has earlier directed Nagarjuna in Damarukam is the director for Durga.
'Durga is a mass entertainer with rip-roaring comedy. Hansika has a role that is glamorous and at the same time has immense scope for performance. Brahmanandam as usual will have the audience in splits with his character,' said Srinivas Reddy.
He further added, 'I have never attempted a mass subject in my career before. This is the first time and yet I have made sure that the script has enough entertainment value in it. The movie will be as powerful as the title.
'This is the first time I am working with Naga Chaithanya and I am very happy. My role has immense scope for performance and apart from the usual fun and frolic, the movie delivers a subtle, underlying message,' said Hansika Motwani.
Written by Akula Siva, the movie has music by top composer Taman. 'Shiva was a landmark film for Nagarjuna. Similarly, Durga will also prove to be one such film for Naga Chaithanya.
The movie was originally supposed to be launched four months earlier. We are planning to have the movie ready for a Ramzan release,' said C Kalyan, presenter of the movie.
