Mohan Babu charges a bomb After a long hiatus, director SV Krishna Reddy is wielding the megaphone again with Yamaleela 2, the sequel to his 1994 blockbuster, Yamaleela.
The movie turned out to be one of the biggest hits in the industry, especially considering the fact that it featured Ali, the comedian as the hero.
20 years down the line, Mohan Babu has been roped in for the role of Lord Yama, a role which was played by Satyanarayana in the original. Reportedly, Mohan Babu has charged the producers Rs 1.5 crore for Yamaleela 2, to which they accepted.
Part of the reason why the original was such a huge hit was because it was made on a shoe string budget, an art at which SV Krishna Reddy is very good at. But, for the sequel, he seems to be sparing no expense and that makes one wonder whether the remuneration to Mohan Babu would be justified in terms of revenues.
