Srihari's wife to take political plunge?
In a bid to carry forward his legacy, Shanti, wife of late actor Srihari might contest from Kukatpally constituency, Hyderabad in the coming elections on behalf of the Congress Party.
Srihari had made clear his intention of contesting from Kukatpally before his untimely demise. If Shanti decides to contest, she would be pitted against Jayaprakash Narayan of the Lok Satta Party, the incumbent.
Chances appear to be bright for Shanti to win from here as Srihari has quite a good following among the masses and also endeared himself to the people of Telangana by adopting a few backward villages in Telangana.
Cutting across party and regional lines, people are expected to offer their support to Shanti in the area where there is a huge chunk of Seemandhra people. This is one challenge that JP can ill afford to ignore.
