Rey caught up in financial crisis? Of late, it has become more like a trend in Tollywood for many films being caught up in financial hassles and facing a lot of problems to see the light.
After the likes of Damarukam, Paisaa and Autonagar Surya, it's now the turn of YVS Chowdary's Rey. The film that marks the debut of Chiranjeevi's newphew Sai Dharam Tej has been under production for three years. YVS Chowdary who is also the producer of Rey has pumped in crores of rupees for this project.
Those in the know say that Chowdary has expected that Rey will fetch him fantastic pre-release business. But in total contrast to his expectations, the project failed to attract any buyers and the trade circles are not evincing much interest in this film.
The reason being that the buyers are not confident about the film and those who are approaching Chowdary are insisting that he screen the film before striking any deal.
Chowdary is making arrangements to release the film on his own in March. Perhaps that would be the best way to release Rey. Else, it may not make it to the big screen, quips a Film Nagar source.
