Ali to join politics? If reports are anything to go by, Tollywood's renowned comedian Ali is going to enter the political arena soon. News is that the actor is planning to contest in the upcoming general elections from the Rajahmundry assembly constituency on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) ticket.
Reportedly, Ali got assurance from TDP supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu for the Rajahmundry seat and he is doing all the necessary ground work from the past few months.
In the past, Ali has campaigned for the Telugu Desam Party. It is heard that actor Murali Mohan who is the parliamentary in-charge for the same place was instrumental in Ali's decision to enter politics and even set the path for the comedian to get an approval from Chandrababu Naidu.
Ali who hails from Rajahmundry was born in a middle class family to Mohammad Basha and Zaitun Bibi. He acted in over 1000 films in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. Ali's latest film as hero Alibaba Okkade Donga released on Friday.
