Nag concerned over ANS release
Actor Nagarjuna is apparently in a fix with the constant postponement of Autonagar Surya. Starring Naga Chaithanya and Samantha in the lead roles, the movie's release date was announced and has been postponed by as many as four times now.
Directed by Dev Katta, the movie is supposed to be a take on the gangster culture of Vijayawada. Though there are good expectations from the movie considering the cast and crew, the frequent delays are eroding the sheen off the project.
Nagarjuna in a recent interview admitted that he was not as careful with the career of Naga Chaithanya as he would have liked to be and against this backdrop the movie is indeed a cause of concern for the Akkineni family, especially considering that the family starrer Manam is gearing up for release.
Ideally, Nag would like a reasonable gap between the release of Autonagar Surya and Manam. If Autonagar Surya releases first and does not do well, it can have an adverse impact on Manam and this is what Nag is worried about.
Nag wants Manam to be a fitting tribute to his departed father, and wants to release the movie from a position of strength. For this reason, one need not be surprised if Autonagar Surya is released after Manam. At this juncture, Nag just cannot afford to take a chance with Manam or Naga Chaitanya's career.
