Pawan keeps his fans guessing Ever since Pawan Kalyan broke his s lence and stated that he would issue a formal statement soon regarding his political plans, the film industry and political circles have been agog with expectations about Power Star's political Arangetram.
Said to be disgruntled with politics and not on talking terms with his elder brother Chiranjeevi after the Praja Rajyam fiasco in 2009 and its subsequent merger with the Congress, Pawan Kalyan is believed to contemplating a political plunge.
This would, in all likelihood, mean a goodbye to films and involves generating a huge fund to be able to sustain the party in time for the coming general elections. While there might be many seasoned politicians and newcomers willing to join his bandwagon, the move is considered highly unlikely owing to the paucity of time as the elections are hardly one-and-half month away.
Dr Jayaprakash Narayan has already issued a statement to the effect that Pawan Kalyan is welcome to join his Party. In all fairness, JP himself is no longer a force he once was and he and his Lok Satta party would gain more from Pawan Kalyan's presence in their party than the other way round.
Also, it is debatable whether Pawan would be able to reach out to the masses in an effective manner using the Lok Satta as a platform.AAP has managed to take the political stage by storm at the Centre and they are now on a massive expansion spree.
While Kejriwal's image has taken a beating after becoming Chief Minister of Delhi, he still has a huge support base across the country and Pawan would also probably benefit from his association with AAP which identifies itself with the common man.
Earlier, there was speculation that Pawan might join TDP. However, it was later denied by his brother Nagendra Babu. ut Pawan is supposedly on very good terms with Nandamuri Balakrishna and given his mercurial nature, it should not be entirely a surprise if he decides to hobnob with the TDP.
