All set to `Hang Up' on March 14 Mahesh Sriram who will soon be seen in the upcoming film, `Hang Up', says that his role in the film required a lot of hard work. 'It was a great experience, and I had to put in some hard work to suit the character,' he tells us.
He adds that the movie will be something to watch out for, 'The story will connect with all sort of audiences, and will be a treat to watch in the theatres.'
The model-turned-actor plays one of the lead roles in the film. 'It is a character that I liked enacting. I want to do performance based characters, and this is surely one of them,' he says talking about his performance in `Hang Up' which is a thriller directed by Hyder Bilgrami and Tirthankar Das. Bilgrami and Tirthankar Das.
Mahesh Sriram will also be seen in a film titled `Pariharam' that is to be directed by Srinu Ippala. So is there any reason why he chooses to work only with debutante directors? 'Nothing in particular.
I am a model, and I work in the US. So I gen erally choose films that let me hang around here. For instance `Hang Up' was totally shot in New York and New Jersey.'
But he says he would like to work with the `big directors' some day. 'Ram Gopal Varma is someone I would want to work with as I grew up watch ing his films, and he has great direction capability,' Mahesh says. And what does Mahesh enjoy most ' modeling or act ing?
'They are two different things. While modeling is quick and gives you less time, film making is a slower process.' While living in the US, must be a huge change from the bindaas life in Hyderabad, what Mahesh misses most is the Hyderabadi biryani! Mahesh's film `Hang Up' is set to hit the screens on March 14, and also stars Sudhakar Komakula (of `Life is Beautiful' fame) and Natalie Rout.
