NTR Jr-Balayya rift out in open Everyone in the industry knows that all is not well between Balayya and Junior NTR for the simple reason that Junior is seen as a strong contender to Nara Lokesh, Balayya's son-in-law. There might be other 'behind the scene' reasons as well.
This fact was reinforced at the audio launch of Balayya's much awaited film Legend. No reference was made either to Junior or his father and a promotional on Boyapati Srinu was edited, removing any reference to Dammu, the movie in which he had directed Junior.
While Junior has stated in recent times that he would stay in the TDP until his dying breath and would also work actively for the Party in the coming elections, it is clear that he has no say in the matter.
It is Naidu who calls all the shots and without gaining the approval of Balayya, there is no way that Junior can hope to curry favor with the TDP again.
Should he choose to gain the blessings of Naidu and Balayya; there is no doubt that Junior will have to play second fiddle to Lokesh. Junior currently has Rabhasa in his kitty and a film with Sukumar in the pipeline.
His films of late have not been doing too well at the box-office and he definitely does need to focus on his career in films which is primarily responsible for his mass appeal.
At the same time, any ill will with the Nandamuri family will also do his career no good as is evidenced by the fact that a majority of the Nandamuri fans who have been supporting him, boycotted his film Dammu, on the news of a rift between him and Balayya.
While reports did surface earlier of a truce generated between Lokesh and Junior thanks to the intervention of Nara Rohit, the audio launch of Legend has once again confirmed that things are far from normal.
Balayya in this tussle with Junior has nothing to lose, but Junior stands in danger of jeopardizing his hard earned status in society today, should the rift continue.
