Rudrama Devi's durbar recreated
A bevy of stars are all set to descend on Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad for a fresh schedule of Gunasekhar's magnum opus Rudrama Devi. Anushka, Krishnam Raju, Rana, Prakash Raj, Nitya Menon, Catherine Tresa, Hamsa Nandini, Suman, JP, Ajay, Vennela Kishore, etc. are the cast of the film expected to participate in this schedule. A special set of a king's durbar has been erected by designer Thota Tharani for this purpose.
Anushka is essaying the lead role of Rudrama Devi; the 13th century revered queen of the Kakatiya dynasty whereas Rana Daggubati will be seen as Chalukya Veerabhadra, Prince of Nidavardhya Puram.
Ravi Teja is doing a cameo as Gona Ganna Reddy. Maestro Ilayaraja is giving the music for Rudrama Devi which has cinematography by Ajay Vincent. Directed and produced by Gunasekhar, the movie is simultaneously being produced in Telugu and Tamil languages in stereoscopic 3D format.
In an earlier interaction with the media, director Gunasekhar said, 'My film will definitely supersede the standards set by all period flicks to date. I've been contemplating this project for quite some time. I couldn't think of a better star than Anushka.' He also exuded the confidence that Rudrama Devi would turn out to be the mother 'of- all- period films.
