Nadhiya to play a cop role Yesteryear actress has made a successful comeback in Tollywood as a character artiste and thanks to the success of movies Mirchi and Attarintiki Daredi in which she played mother to Prabhas and mother 'in-law to Pawan Kalyan respectively, her graph is on a new high.
Nadhiya will now be seen as a cop in the Telugu remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam. Venkatesh is reprising the role of Mohanlal in the original whereas Meena has been retained as the female lead. Nadhiya, speaking on her character said, 'It is the role of a cop.
Though I do not have any action episodes in the movie, it is a very emotional character, that of a mother who is very stubborn. I have seen Drishyam and I am looking forward to this character.'
Suresh Babu is producing the Telugu version which will be directed by Sripriya. The movie is a thriller and Venkatesh will be seen in the role of a common farmer who is so obsessed with movies that he makes every major decision in life by subconsciously taking an example from some film he has seen.
Meena plays his wife. Drishyam became the highest ever grosser in the history of Malayalam cinema. Drishyam collected Rs 50 crore from its theatrical box office collections, remake rights, satellite and television rights. Asha Sharath had played the cop in Drishyam.
