PVP join hands with Pawan With investments running into hundreds of crores, Prasad V Potluri is a name to reckon with both in the corporate world and in the domain of politics. To Tollywood film lovers, he is more recognizable as the producer of the movies Varna and Balupu.
He is the principal financier to all big films in Tollywood. Hailing from the influential Kamma community, Prasad is all set to don the avatar of a full time politician in the coming elections and it is understandable that all political parties are making a beeline to rope him in.
Having him in their fold would ensure the necessary financial clout to emerge victorious on the poll -battleground. But it is still not clear as to which party would finally find favor with him.
Initially, it was thought a certainty that Prasad would sail with Jagan's YSR Congress. He had also invested in Jagan's Sakshi. However recent developments have resulted in Prasad parting ways with Jagan supposedly over the issue of ticket- allocations for the coming polls.
Apparently, Jagan was not keen on the candidates recommended by Prasad. Seizing on the opportunity, the TDP is said to have jumped into the fray immediately and assured Prasad that all his candidates would be given a ticket.
The only bone of contention seems to be the fact that Prasad himself is keen on contesting for the Lok Sabha from Vijayawada whereas Chandrababu Naidu has someone else in mind!
The presence of Prasad at the audio launch of Nandamuri Balakrishna's Legend has given further credibility to news of him joining the TDP.
Now, here comes a twist in the tale in the form of Pawan Kalyan! With Pawan announcing his intention of starting a political Party, all equations have gone haywire and it is now rumored that Prasad has agreed to back Pawan Kalyan.
Prasad is already planning a couple of films with Pawan Kalyan. Pawan's mass appeal coupled with PVP'S financial credibility and acumen could well turn out to be a dominant force.
There is no doubt that should PVP contest from Vijayawada on Pawan's Party; he can count on the votes of the Kapu community also without fail. Then at the end of it all, there is Kiran Kumar Reddy's Party.
Though it appears highly unlikely at the moment, an alliance between Kiran and Prasad is not entirely improbable either. So who shall he finally decide to back?
He has business relations with all the key players and yet only one can stand to benefit politically with his association. Who shall it be? The only Party we can safely rule out is the Congress! Other than that and the YSRCP, it is anybody's guess!
