Samantha goes Bollywood
Samantha has in the past declared that she has no intention of looking at a career in Bollywood especially now that she is firmly entrenched in the South film industry. But who can really resist the lure and glamor of Bollywood?
Apparently, Samantha has given the green nod to a Hindi film opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor. The movie is titled Assi Nabbe Poorey Sau and will be directed by Gautham Menon.
Sonam Kapoor was initially considered for the lead role, but she has now been replaced with Samantha. The film is a remake of the bilingual South Indian film Neethaane En Ponvasantham (Tamil) / Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu (Telugu).
The Hindi version was also supposed to be shot simultaneously, but had to be postponed as Aditya Rao Kapoor couldn't accommodate his dates.
Maestro Ilayaraja is expected to score the music for Assi Nabbe Poorey Sau and Anupam Kher and Vivek Pathak play prominent roles in the movie. If the movie turns out to be successful, there is no denying the fact that Samantha would rule Bollywood as well.
