Telanagna Shakuntala is no more Popular comedian and character actress Telangana Shakuntala, who stole the hearts of many of fans across the world is no more. She passed away at her residence in Kompally, in the hours of mid night on Friday.
She died due to cardiac arrest on Friday midnight at Narayana Hrudayalaya hospital in Suraram near Jeedimetla, Hyderabad. She suffered a heart attack at her Kompally residence and was rushed to the hospital where she declared as dead.She was 63 and is survived by husband and two children.
She was a notable character artist who did roles of villain and comedianShakuntala's Telangana diction and punch dialogues are a rage in the Telugu film industry. Though a Marathi, she picked up the nuances of Telangana dialect and delivered them to perfection.
She was often called as the next Suryakantam. She became popular with her role as Prakash Raj's mother in Okkadu and Tanikella Bharani's sister in Nuvvu Nenu.
She started her career in tollywood in 1981, and she famous with a dialogue 'Nee talli' in nuvvu nenu teja`s movie.She last appeared in Manchu family multi-starrer Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda. Total film fraternity mourned for Shakuntala's death. May her soul rest in peace!
