One of the most prestigious events in the Indian film fraternity is the Filmfare awards.Earlier, there used to be one event which used to happen in Mumbai and even the south cine circuit used to get its awards there. But in passing time, the south cinema has grown huge and they are having their own Filmfare awards night.
Unlike the National Film Awards, which are decided by a panel appointed by Government of India, the Filmfare Awards South are voted for by both the public and a committee of experts.
The Filmfare Awards has been referred to as India's equivalent to the Academy Awards for its ostentatious ceremonies and media coverage.
This year, it is happening in Hyderabad and while the arrangements are grand and everything is in place, the nominations of Telugu films for the awards were announced.
