According to the story which is making rounds, a few hair strands fall on Ballaladeva (Rana) who instantly gets fascinated by the aroma of those strands of hair. He falls in love with the unknown girl imagining the beauty of a girl whose hair strand is so aromatic.
Questions start with in him, if a piece of this beautiful hair could bring him into mood, how beautiful the girl would be? His hunt for the girl begins there and she happens to be Devasena (Anushka) who is already in love with Ballaladeva's cousin (Prabhas).
Eventually their interest in the same girl leads to a war. Battle begins between the two for winning the girl and who won, who lost is story of first part.
