Newly married couple to host Filmfare awards
Filmfare South Awards 2014 are here once again to honor the talents and acknowledge the good works done by South film industries (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada). The event will be held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai today (July 12).
The most prestigious awards in the south, will be hosted by none other than actor Andala Rakshashi fame Rahul and his singer wife Chinmayi. Rahul and chinamyi married recently after dated several months.
Recently, many of the south film stars were seen under one roof to congratulate the newly wedded couple. Now it's the time for cute pair to pay back and they all set to entertain the celebrities with their anchoring skills.
Last year, Pawan Kalyan was selected as the best actor for his role in "Gabbar Singh" by beating Mahesh Bbau.Pawan Kalyan has once again been nominated for the best actor (male) award for his 2013 blockbuster flick "Attarintiki Daredi."
The actor's name features along with Mahesh Babu ("Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu"), Nithiin ("Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde"), Prabhas ("Mirchi") and Ram Charan ("Naayak") in the best actor (male) category.
All the four films were successful at the box office last year and the performances of the leads were well appreciated by the audience. It will be interesting to see if the power star will beat the others named in the same category and win the Filmfare award for the second consecutive time.
Besides best actor (male) award, "Attarintiki Daredi" has been nominated under several other categories including best film, best actor (female) - Samantha, best director - Trivikram, best music ' Devi Sri Prasad, best supporting actor (female) ' Nadiya Moidu and Praneetha Subash, best lyricist ' Srimani, best playback singer (male) ' Shankar Mahadevan.
