Ice Cream made with 2 lakhs only! Director RGV known for innovative ideas and many of his films comprised with new technology or new techniques. Do you believe that it was possible to make a film within budget of 2 Lakhs? Shocking but it's true, if one were to believe the words of director Ram Gopal Varma.
In the context of reviewers predicting losses for his recent release 'Ice Cream' movie, Ramu cleared the air about this and explained how the makers earned table profits with the movie.
'Ice Cream is made with a budget of just 2,11,832 rupees only. We haven't paid to any technician involved in the movie, and even costumes of Navdeep and Tejaswi are also their own. The investment of Rs 2,11,832 was actually spent for house rent, teas and coffees ' said RGV.
Speaking further RGV said that they have not used any other equipment other than Gimbal rig for flow-cam technology for the movie. 'There are no other cameras, cranes, Jimmy jibs, special lights used for the movie. As everything is digital, it is just editing and printing the final with remixed sound. There is no other production expenditure' Ramu added
'The Only reason for the good openings according to me is the way we promoted the movie.. Good thing is the house owner liked the way we have presented his house and has accepted to take part in Ice Cream 2.
We are distributing payments of actors and technicians on 15th of this month at Ice Cream success meet. I wish you will take part in the event.'
If you understand how ice cream is made then a new parallel film industry will be developed in Hyderabad, AP and Telangana; RGV concluded by saying that he will soon start sequel for the movie. So, Ice Cream 2 is on cards. Hope, RGV comes up with good concept this time!
