Ram Charan as Krishna Devaraya Ram Charan made his Bollywood debut with Zanjeer, but that film bitten the dust at BO and Ram Charan has received harsh criticism from Bollywood critics for his poor acting skills.
Some time back there were reports that he is set for his second Hindi project with Lagaan director Ashutosh Gowariker. However Ashuthosh opted to go with Hrithik Roshan for his Mohenjadaro project and thrown out Cherry. However, now it is coming out Cherry and Ashutosh are teaming for another periodic film.
Buzz is the film will be based on Srikrishna Devaraya, emperor of Vijayanagara kingdom. This project will go on floors in the later half of next year. Currently, Ashutosh is busy with pre-production work of Hrithik film and he will take up Ram Charan's project next.
Already we have seen Balayya and Srikanth excelling in this Vijayanagara king's character and Charan will be the third hero of contemporary cinema to make this role happen.
Long back Ram Charan excelled in the mythical role of Kala Bhairava in Magadheera. From then, it is quite exciting for fans to see him play another such role in the age of kings and kingdoms. Seems their dream will becomes reality soon.
It's being speculated that this film will release only after the upcoming big budget Telugu period films Baahubali and Rudramadevi to avoid a clash.
