TV anchor held on charges of blackmail
TV anchor Harshavardhan has been taken into custody by Vijayawada police for allegedly blackmailing a person. According to sources, Harsha had been demanding the management representatives of a dental college located in Eluru to pay Rs.5 crore or face the negative publicity in his television channel show.
Sources said that the management representatives tried to patch up with the anchor by offering a small amount. Based on the complaint, Special teams have stepped into action to nab Harshavardhan. The management of dental college stuck a deal with the anchor following the suggestion of the police helping them to nab the anchor red-handed.
At first, cops took Harshas's father, who was involved in this blackmail. During interrogation, he revealed Harshavardhan is in Vijayawada. Finally, the anchor was arrested in Vijayawada. Harsha was shifted to Patamata police station where he was being grilled for the role of others in the news channel behind the blackmailing.
