Mahesh Babu's cutout causes furore
VIJAYAWADA: The removal of a massive cutout of popular film actor Mahesh Babu caused commotion in the heart of the city Sunday. The police and municipal officials dismantled the huge cutout amid protests by fans. The cutout, which was about 100 ft, was set up on the bank of Eluru canal, adjacent to high tension electric line, by his fans on the occasion of the release of his new Telugu film 'Aagadu'.
Officials, fearing the cut out might fall on the high tension wires due to heavy winds, dismantled it, causing much uproar amongst the fans. A fan of the actor, in protest, jumped into the irrigation canal, but eventually swam ashore to safety.
