Cheating case against Raghava Lawrence
A cheating case was filed against choreographer turned director Raghava Lawrence and his personal secretary Rajkumar in Jubilee Hills police station on Thursday. There have been some financial discrepancies between Rebel movie (Prabhas and Tamanna starrer) makers and director Lawrence.
It was agreed upon by Lawrence that the movie budget will not exceed 23 crores lest he will bear additional expenses. However the movie crossed the budget and makers have spent 5 crore extra. Producers alleged that, when asked about the excess Rs 5 crores, he was trying to evade and was not even responding to their communications.
Irked producers consulted court and filed a cheating case against Lawrence and his personal secretary Rajkumar, who acted as mediator between them. Police filed a cheating case (sections IPC 406 and 420) against Lawrence and his personal secretary.
In fact, producers filed complaint on producers council Lawrence before the release of movie. The director will face a ban if fails to make the payment.
