Inter-State gangsters fire at police Hyderabad, Aug 20 (INN): One person was injured when inter-State gangsters fired in the air to scare away police officials who foiled their bid to rob a cash collecting vehicle at Jubilee Hills.
According to sources, a three-member gang assembled near Neeru's showroom on Road No. 36, Jubilee Hills to rob a cash collecting vehicle hired by a private firm. However, the Commissioner's Task Force personnel, who already got a tip off on robbery plan, were waiting in plain clothes, for the gang near the showroom. When Task Force Inspector Venkat Reddy tried to catch a gangster, he pulled out a weapon and fired two rounds in the air to scare him away. One of the cartridges hit Dharmendra Singh, a L&T worker nearby.
While two gangsters were caught by the police, another managed to escape. According to police, while two gangsters hailed from Karnataka, another belonged to Hyderabad.
