All arrangements in place for the Partnership Summit Visakhapatnam: All arrangements for the 30th CII Partnership Summit, to be held in the city on November 14 and 15, have been completed. Beautification and development works were taken up to impress guests attending the Partnership Summit.
To make the city attractive for the summit guests, GVMC has, over the past three months, developed 26 stretches across the city under five categories'roads, footpaths, medians, junctions, and bus bays. The beautification works include innovative sculptures, greenery, decorative plants, lighting, wall paintings, mural arts, and thematic artworks.
GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg said the summit is being conducted as India's first Zero Waste Model event, emphasizing cleanliness and sustainability. The summit will host industrialists, delegates, and guests from India and abroad, and hence, Visakhapatnam city has been developed and beautified in a long-term and systematic manner to create a lasting impression on the visitors.
The Commissioner said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu consistently emphasizes cleanliness and hygiene, and following his directives, the GVMC is taking up this prestigious summit as a 'Zero Waste Model Program', a first of its kind in the country.
He explained that 100 percent of the waste generated during the event will be recycled and reused, and an on-site composting unit is also being set up near the venue. He further added that henceforth, all major events in Visakhapatnam will be organised as Zero Waste initiatives.
The ongoing development and beautification works undertaken by GVMC are not limited to the CII Partnership Summit alone, but are also aimed at preparing the city for upcoming major international events such as the International Fleet Review, MILAN, and Navy Day celebrations. Long-term measures have been taken to make Visakhapatnam a clean and visually appealing city.
As the city expects a large number of visitors, tourists, and dignitaries, special attention has been given to the beach area, which is one of Visakhapatnam's major attractions. GVMC has renovated beach roads and footpaths, enhanced center medians with greenery and ornamental plants, and installed bright lighting systems. In particular, four large beach sand poles with colorful lights have been set up at RK Beach to ensure vibrant illumination at night.
Arrangements have also been made for drinking water and toilet facilities in and around the summit venue and parking areas. GVMC has deployed sanitation workers in three shifts for round-the-clock cleanliness operations until November 15 to ensure a hygienic environment.
