Ganta Srinivasa Rao questioned the timing of the proposal, saying, "Suggesting Maviga as the capital on April 1 is a reflection of Jagan Mohan Reddy's erratic stance. It's as if he's trying to pull off a prank on the people of Andhra Pradesh." He added that Jagan Mohan Reddy's antics are a desperate attempt to distract from his failures.
Srinivasa Rao also took a dig at Jagan Mohan Reddy's comedic skills, saying, "Jagan Mohan Reddy is compensating for actor Brahmanandam's reduced movie roles with his own comedy. But his jokes are falling flat."
He reiterated that the YSRC's opposition to the Amaravati capital bill in Parliament was a betrayal of the people'sl trust. "The YSRC was the only party which opposed the Amaravati bill Iin Parliament. It's stand was against the consensus of all other parties. It's a shameful chapter in our state's history," he said.
He also questioned Jagan Mohan Reddy's statement on Bhogapuram international airport. Jagan Mohan Reddy had said where was the need for Bhogapuram airport when Visakhapatnam airport is under-utilised? It's a waste of resources." Srinivasa Rao accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of claiming credit for projects that are not piloted by him, citing the Bhogapuram airport and Arcelor Mittal and Nippon Steel plant as examples.
Srinivasa Rao further said "Jagan Mohan Reddy's actions are a clear indication of his desperation to cling to power. But the people of Andhra Pradesh will not be fooled. We demand that he clarify his stance on the capital city issue and stop playing politics with the state's future."
