MATA presents Awards in Vizag by G.Janardhana Rao
Visakhapatnam: The three day Idol Gandharva awards festival organised by the US based MATA (Mana America Telugu Association) at Alluri VIgnana Kendram which concluded here on Saturday evoked good response. On the final day of the awards festival, Vasantha Celebrations were organised in remembrance of legendary actors Savitri and Ghattamaneni Krishna.


Idol Gandharva awards were presented to eminent personalities Chalasani Krishna Prasad, Bhallamudi Ramamurthy, Kondabala Padma Rao, Talabhakthula Lakshmi Prasad, Dr. Syed Rahimtullah and Challa Subba Rayudu in recognition of their outstanding contributions in the fields of music, arts, and culture.


The programme began with the song Jayasundara Nandana from the movie Sri Krishna Maya performed under the leadership of Sangeetha Samrat Dr. T. Sharatchandra. Jaya Jagadeesa song from the film Bhakta Jayadeva captivated the audience.

The dignitaries who were present include Raghu Sarma Sankaramanchi from Sai Datta Peetham in New Jersey, USA, Palli Nallanayya, and Padma Shri Edla Gopal Rao. They praised the efforts of MATA in organizing the event and honoring individuals for their contributions. Burra Katha performance by a team from Tadepalligudem enthralled the gathering. Manjula and Sowmya comp'red the programme.

MATA representatives Praveen Guduru from United States, P Nageswara Rao, B Srimannarayana, Lakshmnarayana and Rambabu were present. MATA's Honorary Advisor Damu Gedala, President of New Jersey, USA based Telugu Fine Arts Society (TFAS) Madhu Anna were also present at the National and International awards festival organised by MATA.
