PM virtually distributes over 51,000 appointment letters Visakhapatnam: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth through video conferencing as part of the 19th edition of the National Rozgar Mela. Conducted simultaneously at 47 locations across the country, the event reflects the Government of India's continued commitment to employment generation, youth empowerment, and nation-building.

Addressing the newly appointed candidates, the Prime Minister introduced the mantra 'Nagrik Devo Bhava' (The Citizen is God) and emphasized that 'Nagrik Kalyan' (citizen welfare) should remain the guiding principle of every public servant. He urged the recruits to dedicate themselves to public service with integrity, commitment, and compassion, and to contribute actively towards realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.
At Visakhapatnam, the Rozgar Mela was organised by the Railways at the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam. The event was chaired by Lalit Bohra, Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair Division, in the presence of M. Chandra Shekhar, Director, IIM Visakhapatnam; S. S. Srinivasa RaoIDSE, CE (NF) & Director (P&L); and other distinguished dignitaries.
During the ceremony, appointment letters were handed over to 190 candidates selected for various government departments and ministries, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Education, Department of Posts, Indian Navy, and Food Corporation of India, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Lalit Bohra congratulated the newly recruited candidates and encouraged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and public service. He advised them to earn respect within their organizations through dedication and ethical conduct and to always treat citizens with dignity and empathy while discharging their duties.
The 190 appointees will join various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and the Department of Higher Education, among others.
The Rozgar Mela is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at accelerating employment generation and providing meaningful career opportunities to the nation's youth. Since its launch, nearly 12 lakh appointment letters have been distributed through 19 editions of the Rozgar Mela, demonstrating the Government's sustained efforts to create a skilled, empowered, and future-ready workforce.
