Citizens should act with 'My Nation-My Responsibility' spirit, says AP Chief Minister

Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday urged citizens to act responsibly during global uncertainties and follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi's advisory in the spirit of 'My Nation-My Responsibility'.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Bollineni Institute of Skill, Education and Research (BISER) at Nidamarru village in Amaravati.

Naidu appealed to the public to reduce petrol and diesel consumption, promote work-from-home practices, avoid luxury travel and unnecessary expenditure, cut down oversized vehicle convoys, prefer domestic tourism, and exercise restraint in discretionary spending, including gold purchases.

Referring to the West Asia conflict, he said disruptions in fuel supplies underlined the need for energy self-reliance. He called for accelerating green energy production through rooftop solar and decentralised power generation, and assured that electricity tariffs would not be increased during his tenure.

The Chief Minister said the State government would grant approvals for institutions in 'autopilot mode' but asked entrepreneurs to complete projects on schedule. He said foundation ceremonies must be followed by speedy execution, and expressed hope that the proposed KIMS hospital in Amaravati would be operational by May 2027.

Praising KIMS Chairman Dr. Bhaskar Rao, he said the institution had grown from a small facility into a major healthcare network. He said entrepreneurship was vital for wealth creation.

The BISER and KIMS projects, he said, would create a large ecosystem in healthcare and skill development. The plan includes a 500-bed super-specialty hospital, 250 medical seats, 1,000 non-medical seats, training for 1,000 healthcare professionals, and jobs for about 5,000 people, including in dental and physiotherapy sectors.

Mr. Naidu said there was global demand for doctors, nurses, technicians and paramedical staff, and urged youth to learn foreign languages to access overseas jobs. He also highlighted BISER's AI-based visual assistance technology for the visually impaired.

On industrial growth, the Chief Minister said the government was focused on job creation and investments. He cited recent foundation ceremonies for Google and ArcelorMittal projects, and said timelines must be met: Google before August 2028 and ArcelorMittal Phase-1 by December 2028.

He said Amaravati was emerging as a Quantum Valley with IBM, TCS and L&T. Andhra Pradesh would host India's first quantum computer by December, with a 133-qubit system expected soon. 'Within two years, Amaravati could supply quantum computing technologies globally,' he said.

The State had allocated ₹20,000 crore for health in the budget, he said, adding that digital healthcare would be expanded through the Sanjeevani platform.

Reaffirming support to farmers who gave land for the capital, Mr. Naidu said Amaravati would be developed as a futuristic city with land pooling, a 190-km Outer Ring Road, more bridges across the Krishna, and expansion of airports, hotels and healthcare infrastructure. Visakhapatnam and Amaravati would be developed as globally competitive cities, while Rayalaseema would emerge as a horticulture and technology hub, he added.
