Will expose TRS Govt's irregularities: Uttam

Hyderabad, Sept 30 (INN): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar on Friday said that the TRS Government was responsible for the breach of Mid Manair Dam (MMD) saying that the party ignored the projects works deliberately.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, the TPCC chief said that the Congress Government in the past had undertaken various projects keeping in mind region's future needs. He said that the then Congress Government spent Rs. 2,300 crore on Yellampalli project, but the TRS did not complete it after coming to power and started Kaleshwaram project only with the fear that if Yellampally project was completed, the credit would go to the Congress. Had the government spend Rs 430 crore more on Yellampally project, it would have been completed long back. The TRS feared that the credit for the project would go to Congress, hence left it mid way and started Kaleshwaram project, he said.

The Congress chief said that the party leaders would visit all the projects and would expose the irregularities and laxities of the government in completing the same.

The TPCC chief said that the state government was sulking on the issue of loan waiver to farmers and was postponing the issue. He said that the state government's negligence has pushed the agri-sector in the state in crisis.

Uttam Kumar said that the appointment of about 30-40 Secretaries of TPCC would be announced in the next 4-5 days. A five member committee comprising of senior leaders Mallu Ravi, Nagaiah, T. Kumar Rao, M. Lal and K. Mahesh would soon finalise the new appointments. He said that the new DCC bodies would be announced after Dassera festival.

Uttam Kumar, IAF pilot, ready to join Army if war breaks out

TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, who was associated with the Indian Air Force (IAF) said that he was ready to join the Indian Army if war was inevitable with Pakistan. He said that the situation now is grim but added that war between the two countries was not a solution.

Uttam Kumar Reddy had extended his services as a pilot of MIG Aircraft for two decades with IAF. Expressing his views on the prevailing situation between India and Pakistan, he said that there were chances of war with the inconsistent neighbor, Pakistan. He said that it was difficult to guess as to how would Pakistan act.

He said that he was ready to rejoin his duties if there was a war. Serving the country is a great fortune, the Congress leader said.
