Tax benefits for Telangana's backward districts Hyderabad, Oct 1 (INN): In a major boost to industrial development in the backward regions of the state, the Centre on Saturday announced tax incentives for nine backward districts, except Hyderabad.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes, Union Ministry of Finance, has notified that in exercise of the powers conferred in the Income Tax Act 1961 (43 of 1961), the Central Government hereby notifies the nine districts of Telangana as backward areas under the relevant provisions of the said Act. Accordingly, manufacturing units which will be set up between April 2015, and March 31, 2020, will be eligible for tax incentives, the sources said.
