MLA Sunnam Rajaiah launches fast unto death Khammam, Oct 6 (INN): Even as the state government has cleared all decks to make the new districts functional from Dasara festival, there seems to be no letting down of the demands for the new districts and revenue divisions from various quarters.
CPI (M) MLA Sunnam Rajaiah on Thursday launched fast unto death demanding creation of Bhadrachalam district from Khammam.
Speaking to the media persons, the MLA said that the state government was not heeding to the people's demands on the creation of districts and was taking unilateral decisions. Rajaiah also opposed the government's move to include Vajedu, Venkatapuram, mandals in Bhupalpally district. He also demanded the state government to merge the four panchayats that were merged with Andhra Pradesh. The four panchayats should be included in Bhadrachalam district, he demanded. He said that he would continue his fast till the government fulfills his demands.
