CPI (M) plans padyatra to nail government's policies Nalgonda, Oct 6 (INN): CPI (M) Telangana unit on Thursday said that the state government was trying to water down the people's movement against the anti-poor policies pursued by the state government.
Speaking at the concluding session of the two-day party state committee meet in Suryapet town on Thursday, CPI (M) leader Thammineni Veerabhadram said that the state government was neglecting the welfare of the weaker sections. He said that the TRS government did not carry out any development of the state during its over two year rule. Taking a dig at the reorganization of the districts undertaken by the state government, the CPIM leader said that TRS was eyeing more on deriving political mileage than aiming at people's welfare through reorganization of districts. The government is taking unilateral decision, throwing the people's opinion to the winds, the CPI (M) leader added.
Veerabhadram said that the party was trying to expose the wrongdoing of the state government. As part of this, Veerabhadram is undertaking a 4,000 km padayatra for over five months.
In the earlier session, CPI (M) national politburo member BV Raghavulu also lashed out at the TRS government saying that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had promised to call an all party meeting before finalizing the reorganisation of districts but did not keep the word. Stating that reorganisation of districts is good for administration, the CPI (M) leader said that the state government did not adopt a scientific approach on the issue.
Coming down heavily on the Centre, Raghavulu said that the Modi government, instead of dealing with the terror threat in the backdrop of Uri attacks, was criticizing the Opposition parties.
