Renuka demands action against seed companies Hyderabad, Oct 6 (INN): Congress senior leader and Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdhary on Thursday demanded that the State Government take stern action against companies who were supplying spurious seeds.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Renuka Chowdhary said that thousands of farmers in Khammam, Nalgonda and Warangal were badly hit due to supply of spurious seeds. She said instead of taking action, the State Government was shielding those companies. She demanded that the companies supply spurious seeds be blacklisted and criminal cases be booked against them. She also demanded that the government supply quality seeds to affected farmers at free of cost.
Renuka Chowdhary also accused TRS Government of diverting over Rs. 700 crore released by the Centre for drought-hit farmers.
