KTR meets tops industrialists in Delhi Hyderabad, Oct 7 (INN): Industries and IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Friday met representatives of leading business firms in New Delhi and invited them to invest in the state.
The minister who is in the national capital to attend the World Economic Forum met over a dozen industrialists and appraised them about the industrial friendly policies of the Telangana government. He requested the industrialists to explore the possibilities of investing in key sectors like defense in the State.
Among the industrialists the minister met was JK Tyres' chief Raghupathi Singhania. KTR requested Singhania to set up paper mills in the state saying that it has good scope for the sector.
The minister spoke about the establishment of a dry port in the state and opportunities in the logistics sector with DHL Managing Director Vikas Anand. He also met MD of Ashok Leyland, Vinod Dasari and requested him to set up a unit in the state. Dasari assured to send a team to the state.
KTR also met a UK delegation from British Telecom and ZTE to set up a plant for telecom equipment in Telangana.
