Mallu Ravi to fast for Jadcherla district Hyderabad, Oct 7 (INN): TPCC Vice-President Dr. Mallu Ravi on Friday said that the state government has not followed proper method in reogranising the districts and this had led to more demands for separate districts from various quarters.
Speaking to media persons here, Ravi said that had the government laid down a proper guidelines and criteria for new districts in advance, the demands for more districts would not popped up. In the absence of such a mechanism there are several demands for districts and revenue divisions, he said.
Ravi demanded the government to retain Midjil and Urukonda mandals in Mahbubnagar district and not merger them in Nagarkurnool district. He said that the government has upgraded towns smaller than Jadcherla as districts but ignored popular demand for making Jadcherla a district which by all means fulfilled criteria to be upgraded as districts. He said that he had met high power committee set up by the state government and placed before them his demands.
The Congress leader said that he would launch a fast unto death if his demand for a separate district, as demanded by many, was not met.
Accusing the state government of neglecting the welfare of poor in the state, Ravi said that the poor are suffering due to anti-poor policies of the state government. Farmers, students, and poor are suffering in the state, he said.
The Congress leader demanded the state government to immediately clear the pending dues to private hospitals under Arogyasri Scheme. Thousands of poor are suffering due to the state government's negligent attitude which resulted in private hospitals withdrawing the Arogyasri services, the Congress leader added.
