Harish Rao reviews arrangements for CM visit
Hyderabad, Oct 9 (INN): Minister for Irrigation Harish Rao on Sunday reviewed the arrangements for the Chief Minister's visit to Siddipet for the inauguration of Siddipet district on Tuesday. MLC Farooq Hussain, Deshapati Srinivas and others were present in the meeting.
Speaking to the media persons after the review meet, the minister said that the Chief Minister will announce the launch of the district at 11.00 am on the day. The party cadre will distribute 30,000 laddus to the citizens to mark the occasion at 20 places in the city. 60,000 balloons would be released into the air to mark the occasion, he said.
The minister said that about 1000 artistes would perform cultural programmes to mark the historic occasion and asked the people to join the celebrations and accord a warm welcome to the Chief Minister who realized the long cherished dream of a separate district of Siddipet. Mr KCR, who as an MLA had submitted a memorandum to then chief minister NT Rama Rao seeking creation of Siddipet district, is now himself launching the Siddipet district, which itself is a great moment, Harish Rao remarked.
