Govt neglecting education sector: Kodandaram Hyderabad, Oct 13 (INN): Telangana JAC chief Prof Kodandaram on Thursday demanded the state government to give importance to education sector and clear scholarship dues at the earliest.
Speaking at a symposium on 'Medical Education' here, Prof Kodandaram expressed concerns over the dwindling funds to the education sector and warned the government not to do so. TJAC chief lamented that the TRS government has made payment of mere Rs 928 crore towards fee-imbursement as against its promise of Rs 3068 crore. Due to the non-payment of dues under Arogyasri scheme, hospitals have suspended the scheme depriving poor people of medical aid.
Expressing concerns that the state government was neglecting welfare sector, Prof. Kodandaram said he has doubts on finance position of the State government and demanded the government to release a white paper on the state finances.
