Opposition misleading on farmers issue: Pocharam Hyderabad, Oct 13 (INN): Stating that the TRS Government was committed to the welfare of the farmers in the State, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that the government was giving huge funds to the agriculture sector.
The minister slammed the BJP leaders accusing them of shedding crocodile tears over farmers' issues. He said that after coming to the power, the TRS government waived off farm loans pending for five years. He said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was serious about the welfare of farmers which is evident from the fact that the TRS Government was supplying eight-hour power supply to the farmers. He said that the farmers were reaping the benefits of Mission Kakatiya in which the lakes were dug up to enhance their water holding capacity. The minister said that the state government ensured good MSP for paddy, maize and other crop in the state.
Pocharam accused the opposition leaders of being ignorant on the various measures the TRS government was taking for the welfare of farmers. 'Is the opposition not aware of all these schemes undertaken by the state government?' the minister questioned. He accused that the opposition parties were trying to confuse the people on farm sector and warned that the people will teach them a lesson as the public was aware of the facts.
