Protests against reorganisation continue Tandur, Oct 13 (INN): The protests against the reorganization of districts in various parts of the state have not subsided yet.
In Tandur, activists of all party observed bandh demanding the state government not to include Tandur mandal in the new Manchiryal district and demanded that Tandur remain part of the Adilabad district.
Opposition leaders forced business establishments to shutter down their shops to support their demand which was objected by ruling party leaders leading to heated arguments between the two sides. They launched a relay hunger strike in front of the Madal Parishad office in the town and raised anti-government slogans. A massive bullock-cart rally was also organized by the leaders of opposition parties in support of their demand.
Meanwhile, TRS leaders led by MLA Durgam Chinnaiah performed 'Palabhishekam' to the portrait of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao expressing gratitude for creating Mancherial district. He said that the smaller districts will help in effective administration and speedy disbursal of services to the people.
