TRS Govt ignored women empowerment: Uttam
Hyderabad, Oct 15 (INN): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the TRS Government has completely ignored the empowerment of women by not inducting even a single woman minister in the State Cabinet.
He was speaking at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday after releasing poster on 'Mahilala Meluko-Telangan Eluko' to mark 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the people of Telangana were fed up with the TRS rule. He said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao does not have a single woman in his cabinet which is an insult to the women of the state. "This is a classic example of how serious the government is about the women empowerment," he said while urging the women folk to protest against the anti-women policies of the state government.
The TPCC chief said that except for rise in the sale of liquor, nothing has progressed in the state.
He said that KCR has ditched the poor people by not fulfilling the promise of providing double bed room house to the deserving. He said that the condition of civic amenities has gone from bad to worse after recent heavy rains. Instead of restoring normalcy, Municipal Administration Minister K. Tarakarama Rao went on US tour. He said there was no match between KTR's tall claims of making Hyderabad a global city and actual condition of roads, drainage and other amenities.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress would protest against the anti-people policies of State Government. As part of this a public meeting would be organised on October 19 at Serilingampally in Hyderabad. Similarly, the party would organize a farmers' rally 'Rythu Garjana' in Mahbubabad on October 20. AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh and other national leaders will address these meetings. The party will also organize an Application Campaign from October 21 seeking immediate clearance of fee reimbursement dues.
